Series of “Warm Sunny in Winter” – Donating Courtesy Furniture

    On October14, headed by the Zurich China CEO, Ms. Karen Hu, Zurich's volunteer team visited Zhanhai Central primary school once again and donated winter clothes. Zurich executives participating in the activity including Head of HR Development Jennifer Hu, Head of Finance Lily Zhu, and Head of Channel and Marine Department Sherry Li.

    As a key activity of the company's CSR efforts last December, we donated winter coats to all students of Zhanhai Central Primary School, located in an improvised mountainous area of Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou City. During our visit, we noted that the students' desks and chairs were very old and shabby; their learning environment was relatively poor. Through the initiative of Ms. Karen Hu, we were able to donate 400 sets of school desks and chairsas well as nearly 200 books during this visit.

    Leaders and officers from Zhangbei Education Bureau, Zhangbei Poverty Relief Office and Zhanhai County Government attended the donating ceremony, and on the spot they issued a silk banner to thank and praise Zurich for their charity.

    The Students performed well-rehearsed songs and dances for volunteers from Zurich. Their pure singing and smiling faces deeply moved everyone present.

    Ms. Karen Hu said the charity and social responsibility has always been a company cultural tradition of Zurich. It was very pleased to see what we did had helped students from the Zhanhai Town Central Primary School, an assinged target charity of the Beijing branch .Zurich will continue to be concerned about the development of education in poor areas, and make due contributions.
