Trade Credit Insurance
Zurich offers a trade credit solution tailored to the way business is conducted in developing economies and the payment default risks that go with it. We provide trade credit insurance that covers exporters, commodity traders and the financial institutions that support them against payment defaults caused by political risk events or company-specific issues.
Terms up to seven years give insureds the ability to offer extended or deferred payment terms, which are often essential to build relationships with emerging markets customers. Zurich also structures single-obligor policies, with capacity up to US $50 million per transaction – so each deal receives the attention and the protection it merits.
When it can enhance coverage terms, capacity or flexibility, Zurich collaborates with export credit agencies and multilateral institutions to optimize trade credit coverage for insureds.
Political Risk Insurance
Some of the best business opportunities today require your company to venture into remote locales where you face a higher likelihood of expropriation, war, terrorism, sovereign default, embargoes, and other upheavals. You need protection against these more exotic risks, and Zurich is more than able to take these on.
Zurich offers highly flexible, long-term protection for investors, financial institutions, project developers and contractors confronting the political risks of emerging markets. Coverages are customized transaction-by-transaction to address the risks arising from political events where our clients do business. Terms can extend up to 15 years, with capacity of up to US $150 million per transaction. Multi-country and global programs are available.
